I am still having problems with the screw that holds the servo saver to the steering servo backing out. This lets the saver come loose a little bit and the truck's steering to stick to extreme left or right. I have tried lock-tite, I let it sit for about 30 min. and ran the truck, came right loose, did it again and let it sit for about 36 hours, and came loose in about 30 seconds of driving. Has anybody else had this problem? I know the screw is coming loose, you can see it when you pick the truck up and steer left and right. Any more ideas? The servo is brand new, and the servo saver is brand new, I can't figure this one out. Thanks,
Jared Williamson

you got the Hi-tec servo???
did you use the same screw from th estock T-maxx?
and have you tried a longer screw yet?

It's the hitec 645mg, and the screw I am using is the one that came with the servo. It's probably 5-6 mm long, and I think I am going to try a longer one, it's really fine threads so I hope the lhs will have one. I also have a tiny lock washer, I think I am going to try that too.

hey if you're going saturday I have a buttload of screws.....and yes you should use the washer....I wanna try and do a BBQ at the track saturday...you down?

I'm game for the bbq, I will be there around 12:00-12:30, but again I can't stay into the night to watch the races, I will probably be there until around 4:00 or so. The truck is running like a raped ape, it just doesn't steer, so if I can get the steering sorted out, it will be a blast on saturday. I am going to drive a work van there, so we will have an air compressor. question for ya, do you play paintball?

not really...I have done it but last year I re-injured my knee and I'm a little gimpy now.....Dr. said next option is knee replacement...no more patches and quick fix......I guess you do?...it's fun....I just never really got into it.....I go to the range and shoot a few times a month now.....

die hard paintballer, not the organized "field" paintball, thats for girlie-men, I'm talking woods warfare, play til' your empty. I'll see you there on sat., what time are you going?

I'll have kid in tow so probably around 1-1:30 the BBQ guy won't be there till about 5 though.....

That's weird --I run a new 645 with no problems---try the white plumbers tape??? might be worth a shot-my only other solution is RED threadlock, but that is never good if you have to take it apart.

I am about to try my tig welder...j/k, but the red lock-tite is on the list if the next couple little things don't work, I am using blue right now to no avail.

You have to let the loctite setup overnight. 30 mins is not nearly enough time.
He said after it tried for 30 minutes he did let it set overnight and still having the problem. I had the same thing happen and tried diffrent screws and found one the fixed the problem just wasn't long enough.

ok cool, thats info I can use! I have tried everything but change to a longer screw, so I will do that next.

rc10gt, I let it sit for about 36 hours, and no luck. Thanks for the info guys, going to get a longer screw today after work with those super fine threads...

did yo clean the old locktite off befor trying again?? locktite works best on a clean screw..

Sounds like your screw is not long enough to hold the servo saver. I had to run a longer screw with m 645MG but I did not use loctite. Just be careful when screwing it down as you can over tighten it and then you are SOL.

Get a longer screw dude.

how many times have I said that in life...all my problems can be solved with a screw...

But not just any screw...A good one....and the right one too

2.5 x 10 mm screw (the stock one that came w/ the servo is 2.5 x 6 mm in case anyone needs to know besides me), some lock tite and a lock washer on there for cheap insurance, and everything is working great! thanks guys, really appreciate it.
