Looking to replace stock servo and radio/receiver...any help appreciated.

check with your LHS for the servo replacements. i would go with an airtronics servo. I heard they were good.

the radio that i am getting for upgrade is a futuba 3pdf. there are no servo wih this one, but it came down on price about two weeks ago. very good radio for 120.00 check it out and see if you like it.

I went with a high torque servo and a 6 volt rechargable battery pack. Wow what a difference it made all the way around. I have 4 wheel drive vehicles and was really frustrated in the way 2 wheel drive handled compared to the 4 wheel drive. Changing those 2 things made a big big difference to me.

a lot of people on this board seem to like hitec servos. Go to www.servocity.com They list all the hitec servos and their stats. Just get the most expensive servos you can afford. I think that pretty much somes it up for choosing servos. If your on a budget, select a few that you are considering and let us help you decide between the few you like.

Hitec servos are really good. I'd go with either the 625MG that highflyin recommended or I went the 645MG (more torque but more cost). You can use a regular (425BB) servo for throttle/brake if you like.

i use airtronics servos.. 357 with .07 speed.. in my kyosho.. i like fast servos.. in my gas truck i run the hitec 925mg with .08 speed.. and 107 oz torque

hitec

Hitec Servos will serve you well for the $. The 625mg is all the servo a man needs for a GT, especially with a computer radio. Combine that with a 6 volt hump pack and your all set. Just my 2 cents.

I use all airtronic servos and have never looked back : Air 94587Z for throttle Torque: 115oz/in
Speed: 0.06 sec/60 degrees (torque and speed measured at 6 volts)
Motor: Coreless
Weight: 2.12 oz (

and 94358Z for steering which has 200oz of torque with a 0.10 response time. You will not have to worry about the servos if you use the above.

........whew! talk about overkill... You sure your not outfitting a monster truck? Who in the wide world needs 200 oz. to steer an rc10gt? To each his own.......:wtf:

I use 200 oz in all my cars minus the B4 which has the 125oz 0.06 response time. You can never have enough but you can always have too little. I would rather dial back the amount of steering rather than having it dialed up to full...the servos will last longer not using them 100% all the time.

I was using a 100 oz servo on my GT and it did not have enough to hold a long high speed sweeper at my local track so I just upgraded from a JR Ultra Race Servo..
