Servo Problems

Basically i recently bought a second hand Gev rex-x nitro buggy and it is in great condition. The only problem i have had is that when I take it on to the grass field near my house, the steering servo locks up and stays turned to the right. This means every time I have to turn the rc electrics off and move the wheels manually to centre them again. Could this be because the steering servo isn't very good or because I am using disposable AA batteries for the receiver in the car and the voltage supplied is too low?

Try getting a rechargeable 5-cell pack. They are more reliable than an alkaline 4-cell pack and a bit cheaper in the long run.

Disconnect the servo arm from the linkage and manually move the wheels from full left to full right several times to see if anything is binding. You might have a bent or broken part causing it to hang up to one side.

Ok thanks, I have tried this and there doesn't seem to be any binding. I think what happens is when I turn the wheels and then there is resistance stopping the wheels going back straight, the servo goes back to the centre but doesn't turn the horn, so the wheels remain turned whilst the servo is centred.

If the servo centers but the wheels stay turned you have a stripped servo horn or servo gear
