I'm new to the site and have a quick question about my tmaxx 2.5. I turn it on and both servos are acting like they dont have power. the steering turns really slow and the throttle is also going extremely slow. I replaced the 4 AA batteries and still does it, checked for oinched wires, everything. Just can't think what esle it could be. any help is appriecated, thanks

The problem lies in the batteries you are using. Regular alkaline AAs do not have enough power to turn those big wheels. If you switch to a 5 cell NiMH pack you will get more power and reliability.

yeah but they should have enough power to atleast open the throttle...shouldnt they? plus everything worked fine until about a week when i went to drive it, now its done it ever since.

The battery holder has a bad contact or it's some where in the wires. Ditch the 4 aa holder and get a hump pack. Huge difference.

Hmm sounds similar to a problem I was having today driving along fine then all of a sudden the servos quit working. I have new batteries in the transmitter and reciever but for some wierd reason the servos would quit responding for a few seconds then would work fine then quit then work it did this like 5 or 6 times. Still dont know what caused it, I think I'm going to upgrade to the 2.4 ghz system.

Upgrading the radio system won't help the problem if you stick to the 4 aa holder. They're junk. A 5 cell hump pack will.

Yeah I figured that as well and have been planning to get a hump pack but grown up stuff like bills and other crap keep getting in the way Damn it! I wasn't sure if it was the batt holder or if I was getting Interference from something like a cb radio or another driver on the same frequency. This is the first time I've had this problem so I'm going to have a few more outings to see if the problem persists if it does then I will investigate further.

That would be the best way to find out if you have a bad connection. When you pick up a hump pack, you'll need a charger that can charge between .5 and .8 amps.

although i do agree that the hump pack puts out more power and will pay for itself in the long run i was getting a much longer run time outta my 4 duracell rechargeable aa's about a half gallon of fuel....i just bought a ofna hump pack and I'm only getting about a quarter of a gallon or less to a charge.... to help with your question though i would try a voltage meter to check for your problem.

stallin servo whats the deal

i recently purchased a new fubata 3305 to replaced my burned out servo...i have noticed that it is stallin plus the tires do not return to the forward position....i checked for bindin parts and tight screws what can i do or wat am i not doing....so far thats the only problem i havent bein able to figure out ...help me for losin my hair....lol:hehe:

You may have gotten a bum servo, happened to me. I replaced a worn out steering servo....made problems WORSE!!! Got another new one ( waranty) and all problems resolved.

ok so what do u think about the wheels not turnin back to normal position?

i do have a pack in the truck and i checked the steerin set up

i checked the knuckles as well to see if it was keepin it from turning

I am thinking bum servo for ALL your problems.
What truck you got?

If you hold the truck in the air.... so the wheels arent touching the ground.... does the streering work properly?

Disconect your steering assy from the servo. the wheels should slop back and forth REAL EASY.... if there is any binding or tightnes.... deal with that first.

ok i have done that and the wheels turn fine ...wen i turn the to the left it returns back and wen i turn it to the right it doesn't return.....i have notice that wen the battery it of or disconnected it hard to turn it by hand

ok the only time the servo works fine is wen i take the horn off the servo....

ok ill check that again...ill lossin evrything and go from there

don't bother with nimh cells...

just get some lithium ion cells! :p

I was considering using a 12volt li-ion battery pack from my milwaukee drill, with a ~6volt regulator.

its a fairly light battery, good capacity, and I already have two, plus a charger!

This is certainly not a bad idea. But nimh's provide plenty of power for a radio system as long as the pack is of decent quality and charged correctly. I'd try cycling the battery, then check to make sure it's at a proper voltage(6.5 volts or so) and make sure there's no binding. Loosen each pillow ball until you can feel slop. Then slowly tighten it until the slop just barely is gone. Do this to all 8 of them. If that doesn't do it and you have determined that there is no binding, I'm with the bad servo theory.
