I haven't used my sandmaster in a while i have been to busy working on my MERV. So I came to turn it on, plugged in the battery pack (1000mah, 20-30c, 2 cell, 7.4v lipo), switched on the transmitter then receiver and the steering servo made a crackling noise and then the throttle servo started glowing orange and plumes of white smoke started coming out of the casing. What I want to know is what have I done that has made this happen. I am thinking to powerful battery or short circuit in both servos possibly?

While I had time to enjoy it the servo "burning" looked pretty awesome :D

Many thanks

Pics or it didnt happen :D

Make sure your running all wire leads to +/+ & -/- or if a battery pack coulda been plugged into the rig with opposite pulls -/+ on +/- will fry your system too.

Were the servos rated for lipos?

Haha oh it did happen. there was a big black mark on the side of the motor in the servo as well. I don't think this one can be fixed!
