Hi all!

I resently started having problems with my Savage. When I hit full throttle, the servo flickers, causing the engine to hesitate (this happens regardless of where I drive). When the engine is off and I hit full throttle, everything seems normal - the servo holds full throttle. I have changed all the batteries, and the mixure is quite rich (3.5)...
But after disconnecting my Carson fail safe, it seems like the problem is solved...? Visually the fail safe looks ok.
Anybody experienced something like this, or maby have some thoughts?

Cheers

Espen

PS: Thought I should mention it; I've had the problem since I upgraded to a high preformance air filter.

Sounds like you have three possible problems:
1---Your failsafe is going bad & causing your servo to twitch
2---Your servo is going bad
3---You are picking up some signal noise probably from vibrating metal on metal contact.

A piece of metal rubbing on another piece of metal can cause an interference signal to your servo. Since you only experience it at WOT, I would suspect that you have metal on metal vibrating somewhere.

Check all of your screws and linkages to make sure that they are not loose and vibrating or rubbing on another piece of metal. Also check your fuel filter (if you have one) to make sure it is not rubbing on metal either. If you don't see any metal on metal, then I would think that your failsafe is bad. Especially since you say everything works fine after you disconnect the failsafe.

Later....:mex:

Some engines at high speed rev high enough they shake the reciever and can cause radio issues as you describe. Try some padding arounf the RX in the radio box and see if that helps.

Since the failsafe safegaurds against outside frquency inteferences, I would say that it could be what is causing your servo to twitch, due to as what was stated previously metal to metal contact. It would appear that your failsafe is working like it should.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, i tried a new reciever and it cured it for a while but to cut a long story short it turned out to be the RX crystal that had suffered from vibration damage and died slowly. Try a new crystal and put some foam under or around the reciever you may find this is the answer. good luck

Thanks people!

I'm currently abroad, but I will try all the advices as soon as I am back! I'll let you know when I solve the problem.
Thx again :worship:

i yeah tha problem is just wot i had and it was my crystal's so i replaced both of them and it's gr8 now

i find this to be a horrible problem when it accurs because it can be soo many things, i had it happen to me recently after a horrible landing on my XL's lid from 8 feet in the air doing at least 30 mph, it turned out to be my throttle servo had busted, and i have had it happpen many other times as well i have found that most the time it is the rx crystal.
