i just taken the throttle and brake arms off of my servo on my rs4 3 evo, so i could remove the radio tray to clean my car and now I've put them back on when i brake it closes the throttle off even more??? what have i done wrong???

souds like you should readjust your idea and EPA. what happen was.... it sounds, like that your idea was never set right or you linkage is off. did you center your servo and set the servo arm in the right spot? remember that you sould put your trim back to center before you put your arm on.

Idle, is what he means. You need to turn your throttle trim on the radio all the way off, then adjust the idle screw for the proper idling RPM. Never use the trim to adjust it, or it will shut off when you brake. Only raise the trim for starting and warming up.
Adjust your brake at this time also, with no trim.
You might have put the servo horn on a little too much to one side, if it was working before.
EPA is 'End Point Adjustment', but that's only if you have a computer radio.

thanx guys I've just set the throttle trimand centered my servo and re-fitted the arms and it seems fine now, but the idle does need setting, didnt know to set trims all the way off though, kind of makes sence if you think about it?!

Looking down the carb throat, with the air filter off, the widest opening should be about the thickness of a credit card, or about 1/16 inch. That should be close enough to get it started, but if it stalls, open it slightly more.......with the idle screw, not the trim.

yea i need to spend some time setting it all up, its just about broke in now so ill be tuning it in when i can get out weathers absolutely crap here!! oh well wont be long before I'm on holiday in the US!! wonder if they will let me take my car on the plane????

There was a thread about plane travel with a nitro truck a while back. The end result was NO fuel, not even a drop in the tank, and NO batteries in the Tx or Rx.

wot but you can carry them seperatly? I've just joined a club and dying to get on the track but can't really go on my own if its not a race day ill have to keep getting down off of the rostrum to turn my car back over! lol

Your best bet, to avoid any hassles, is to ship your engine, fuel tank & radio gear through the mail to someone. Airport security rifled through my gear with cotton swabs, looking for any residues... They dont play games either... Ask
mcvickj... They confiscated his engine & fuel system before entering the plane for the Fla bash.. Of course, it was held for him upon returning home...

suppose i could send it as I'm stopping with my uncle in las vegas, then having a little trip to cali for about a week, might just leave it here though lol, seems alot of hassle

I just caught something I missed earlier, when you said you didn't know how to set the trims all the way off. It's either a button or a dial on the face of your radio. One is for the throttle/brake, and the other is to center the steering. The throttle/brake trim should be ALL the way down. Counter clockwise.
When it's all the way off, that's when you make the necessary mechanical adjustments to your idle and brake.

let me get this right, when i put the servo arms back on i center the servo, then next time i take it out i set the throttle trim right down then adjust with the idle screw, wot about setting the brake?? wot do you mean?

oh I've got another dial on it aswell, it says ST D/R?

You center the servos with the radio and Rx on. Then put the control arms back. Throttle with trim all the way down, and steering with the trim knob centered.

DR is duel rate... if you set it at zero you steering will be very little, if it is at 100% that means you tires will turn as far the servo can go.
