Hey Guys,

I just wanted to take the chance to thank all who gave me advice and information on selling your own home. I had a ratified contract for the full sale price not even two weeks after I put the sign in the yard. I have made it through the home inspection with no problems and I have a closing date set for Oct. 31. Now I still have the apprasial to get through, and I know it is not a done deal until I am holding the check, but man it is exciting. Selling your own home is not that hard really. You just need to read everything carefully and I hired an attorney to look over the paper work just in case. So wish me luck, hopefully we can close and move on. Man I can buy alot of RC stuff now! Man I wish... LOL

Doesn't sound like ya need any luck bro. Glad to hear it is going well. What is the next step? Getting a loan to go with the check, to buy a bigger house, with a bigger pc of property? :) House hunting is a bitch. Thought I was going to move out of my place.... Me and the president of the company (wife) haven't been able to agree on one yet.

Best o luck bro.

Hey Dig,

Naw, I don't have to look for a bigger house. Future wife just had a 3400 sq. ft. house built on her fathers farm. So all the money will go to savings... a deck, and to finish the basement, not to mention a new RC of my choice within reason. I am getting ready to elect a new President of the company (wedding) LOL so I will have to get this transaction through Finance before she takes over. Hope all is well with you my friend. Take care.

We have rented a house on the beach in Nags Head NC, where we will have a private, immediate family only ceremony, on the beach at sunset. Hopefully we can pull this off without a hitch. I am looking forward to it. I never in my life thought I would ever be married, well at least without having to order one of those mail-order Brides.

Some days, I wish I had checked out a mail order bride before I got married...

Wish I would've mail ordered something and stayed single!
First wife was a fiery red head that turned into Lucifer after about 3yrs. Only wife... Been living with a great little girl now for 16 years. (well she's great sometimes) We always go to Tenn. every year or so. 4 years ago I thought I would surprise her and get married there. Went by one of those quickie marriage chapels down there..... I got sick as hell. Not kidding. Was sick all week. Couldn't do it... Plan to before long. maybe....

Wish ya the best of luck Tom. Hope you and the new bride live a long, prosperous and very happy life. Post a pic or two of the wedding.

I will do that my friend. Thank you for the well wishes. I hope things go well too. I have no doubts things will work great. She supports my hobbies.. well after we had a really long discussion about it. She lets me race every once in a while. I am also into O scale trains and she is actually really starting to get into that with me too. All in all I think we have done this the right way. Only time will tell I suppose. This is her second marriage and my first so we shall see. I just hope we don't end up :argue:ing all the time. I waited a bit before I thought about making the move, I just turned 28.... sounded like a good number.. LOL Take care my friend.

Hey Revo... I guess it's not too late for the mail order bride! I still have 7 months... :)

She lets me race every once in a while.

That just sounds wrong. Maybe if she sees how much you enjoy it it will be better. My wife is supportive (she bought me a N Rusty and a 1/8 buggy) and kicks me out every Sat. to race. Just blows off some steam!! Good luck with everything I'm sure it will ALL work out.

Yeah, I guess that does sound kinda bad..... She is just very big on family togetherness and although she does support my hobby... she really does, but she always has something she wants to do. Also, her family works all the damn time and she built her house right on the family farm so whenever her dad is out working the farm (From sun up to sun down every stinking day, rain or shine) she makes me feel guilty for not wanting to run out there and give him a hand. She doesn't make me go help, but she will say things like... I guess I should go and see if dad needs any help. It was the source of some pretty heated battles let me tell you.... Once we get married and she sees how much money I have sunk into this I hope she lets me race more. (I know, it sounds bad, but really guys you have to admit... the women are really the ones in charge here..... they just let us feel that we have control sometimes) It worked for the trains, she said for the amount of money we have spent getting these trains together I better use them. We shall see guys. I am just happy to be racing at all.
