I'm looking to upgrade the motor from the factory one.

What I'd like to do is complete this set.
https://furitek.com/products/furitek-stinger-brushless-power-system-for-scx24
  • 1 x LIZARD PRO 30A/50A BRUSHED/BRUSHLESS ESC FOR AXIAL SCX24 WITH FOC TECHNOLOGY
  • 1 x Bluetooth module
  • 1 x Micro Komodo 1212 3450KV brushless motor
  • 1 x 11T 0.3M CNC Brass Pinion
  • 1 x CNC aluminum motor mount
I already the Furitek Lizard and Bluetooth module. Please confirm or deny, the other parts are:

I know there is some plastic work to be done around the electronics tray and battery tray. What are ya'll doing for that?

Edit: Changed mount from FUR-2259 to FUR-2101.

I am not sure on the Furitek setup as far as what trimming is required, but the PN Racing brushed setup in our Carnage build showed cutting on the ESC tray and removing one of the mounting legs of the tray. That made that side of the ESC tray impossible to hold the shock securely since there was only one screw holding it in. Luckily I had a couple spare trays. So I flipped the crossmember to mount the motor rearward like stock to fix it.

That's a great idea. Do you have a pic of it installed?

Sure do. I 3d printed a battery tray to mount to the side of the frame to make room.

The Furitek setup is the best there is for these little trucks, and I would suggest the mini Komodo over the regular one, just for more room to play with. I plan to get one for or Desdbox one of these days, but the PN Racing upgrade is cheap at like $52 all in for the motor, mount, and gearset. And it performs beautifully.

There is no slow motion in this. Just throttle control. And we were on 100% on the throttle limit switch I believe. So it does go slower.
