Hello,

I was wondering about different screw kits for the T-maxx and other vehicles. I have an RCscrewz kit and those screws absolutely suck. They allen drivers don't even fit the screw heads snugly, so the heads strip easily. Then i have a problem with the stainless steel kinda "sticking" to my aluminum threads in the bulk heads and engine mounts. Loc tite just makes it worse. Could anyone suggest some screws to use and where to find them. I'm done with the stupid SS screws.

Thanks guys.

I buy my screws at the local industrial supply house. They don't typically stock screws this small but can order and recieve in a couple of days. Nice thing is you can order the quantity you wish along with the grade of screw you would like.

I have never bought one of the pre-packaged screw sets. I was eyeballing the sets on Rush RC's sale this week, but there is no detail on what screws you would be getting and what quantity of each. I'm gonna do some searching to see if I can find details of the sets.

Mr T

One more thing, Loctite is over-rated for RC use (Just my opinion of course)

when you go stainless to Aluminum NEVER use loc-tite....use an anti gaul product....I ave some tub of stuff from my dad's shop and it doesn't have a label on it, but i'm sure someone here has a brand to use......the metals will actually seize together if you don't use it......in the case of the screw heads not being snug....what tools are you using? I thought my allen wrenches were good until I got ito this hobby.....I bought a set of Integy drivers and all th escrews I thought were stripped I could easily loosen.....

Yeah, I have a rcscrews.com set, and it works perfectly. I have no problems using the tools provided.

Maybe i should purchase some anti-seize and some Integy drivers. Keep em commin.

just a thought ,maybe your using a mtric allen head on a standard head
i know when i bought my rpm bumpers and bulkhead braces i tried using the metric allens and they were loose so i tried my 3/32 allen and worked perfectly

I've bought a set for my stock t-maxx and my supermaxx from www.tony1034.com. The screws are grade 12.9 and grade 10.9 black oxide alloy steel. He also sells the screws by the packs (20 pieces).

You could either contact him by e-mail or buy it online through Cripsy Critters

Tony is also a really nice guy and is very repsonsive with your questions.

Regards,
Alex
