Hey, i just wanted to ask a few questions before i start running my rascal in!

Firstly, i was wondering if someone who owns a rascal could give me an idea on what the factory settings for the engine are like, i would assume that they are quite rich, but i have heard people say that it is too lean >.> So i was just wondering

And secondly i would be interested to hear what methods people used to break in their rascal and how it seemed to go, i did post a separate thread in the past, checking over a heat cycling method to use but with this being my first nitro car i have read over so many break in procedures that i am starting to become clueless about what to actually try ^^ So any suggestions would be much appreciated :)

And ofc any other information that you think would be usefull to help me get me started, please let me know!

Thank you very much =D

wow I didn't think a .18 would fit in a 1/16 lol. Looks like a cool little truck. This link should help you with everything you need to get started. He heat cycled his engine, something I've never done, I usually do what ever break in the manufacturer says. He mentions that the factory settings are a bit rich, which is normal.

Ahhh very nice :) Well judging by that it should be alright for me just to run a few tanks through it with low varying rpm, slightly rich, then leave it to cool at BDC at altering intervals =D I will probably stick to the method of running it in that i designed in my last thread then ^^
Thanks for the webby :)

The rascals are one cool little truck! :D
Not meaning to make it hard for you, but the heat cycle method is the best.
Pro racers use it and get good life out of their mills.

possibly more important during break in than at any other time is first marking bottom dead centery on the fly wheel and returning it to that after every shutdown...(right at shutdown, not picking up and walking back to the car or bench or porch or whatever.) make it part of your shutoff routine just before you turn off xmitter and rcvr.

i have had a rascal for 2 months now first nitro car not had many problems with it its been brilliant
good luck
