well, as some of you now know, i'm looking at buying a used schumacher fusion, and i can prolly get it at a pretty good price. the car is in excellent shape. i've spent a lot of tonight looking at it and thinking about buying it. the owner says he has only used it a handful of times and thats believable. i need some help on pricing. i can't find too much about them online, and i need to know what i should offer. his neighbor (my step dad's friend that borrowed it to bring it to show me tonight) said the way he talked i could maybe get it for $200, that sound good to you guys?

For $200 it seems like a good deal. Last one I saw sold on ebay for over $350. And theres one on another forum for sale for $300 thats a bit used but still in decent shape. I say go for it.

ok, i'm looking forward to a little nitro car that can easily go 70 haha

my 1st nitro might be a good one

You will need a lot of space to get it to shift into 3rd gear.

i've got some big parking lots around, like at my school, and some other places

what will the fusion do in 2nd?this could turn out to be a good deal, so i dont think I'm gonna let it pass over. i also wont be racing. my neighbor has an old super rs4 that hasnt run in 8 years. if i helped him fix it up, it was his dad's so he doesn't know anything about it, and we took them out and raced in a parking lot, you think i could beat him?

Well theres to many factors like how the car is tuned, the engine size, gearing, and not to mention driver. So really no one can really tell you. You may smoke him in bottom-end performance but he may get you in top-end performance or visa-versa. You won't know until you actually race.:marshall:

i see, well lets just pretend they both are finely tuned. woudl the rs4 beat the fusion of the line and the fusion would smoke the rs4 in the long run?

Like MetalHead said, there's more to it than just tuning. Engine size and gearing will be the biggest factors in a straight line, then the drivers come into play for cornering. You'll have to just get'em out and hook-em up to find out.

ok i really dont think the neighbor would get it running, so i guess ill just have to buy it from them and get it running myself. he would probly sell pretty cheap, the condition isnt too excellent

Might wanna rethink buying the super rs4. They have been discontinued for a while and the parts are getting pretty scarce to find..
Both in stock form, tuned evenly, and both running there best, I think the fusion would walk on it. Its more set up for racing as to where the supernitro is more of a parkinglot basher.

I agree with 4u2nv. The rs4's are okay, but they are more for bashing. ALso the handling is horrible, my freind has two and when you go around even a light corner they just push all the way off the road.

the only reason i would buy the rs4 is because its old and i could maybe get it for pretty cheap. its in good condition but needs to be cleaned up

It all depends on what you want. IMO the rs4(for a street or parking lot) is plenty fast. If your going to race, it probly wouldnt be the best choice.
