Have a few questions concerning the electronics in the sc8, Me and a buddy each purchased a sc8 about 1 month ago and the truck has been pretty good till now! We were at the track this saturday getting ready for a day of racing, I turned on the transmitter then turned on the receiver when all of the sudder white smoke starts rolling from the throttle servo! I instantly turned the receiver off and let it set for a few minuates as me and my buddy stood there and tried to figure out what just happened. I turned everything back on and found that I no longer had brakes and when applying the throttle the servo returned back to center very slow. Well this led to my buddy checking out his electronics and can you beleive when he turned his truck on the throttle the throttle servo would not move only gitter back and fourth a little! What the heck could have possibly happened to both are servos at the same time? Not able to race we headed home and when we got there i switched my servos in the receiver and tryed them and the original steering servo still worked and still the other did'nt,but after a second they both quit all together! Any input on this? What are some good servos and receiver I can purchase and put in this truck that will work with the stock radio? I would like to put high torque for the steering and high speed for the throttle. Also what size hump pack are you to use for the receiver i have a 5 cell 6v 1600nimh hump pack will that work? and for the radio i got the same thing only in a flat pack to find that the plug inside the radio is different, so will this type battery work as long as i find the wright type plug for it? If anybody has any input on the multiple questions above I'd love to hear it thanks.

CRAPPY! Maybe it was just time for the throttle servos to die. The stock servos are marginal at best, and they just 'get the job done' IMO. I run Hitec 7955TG servos in all my off road RC cars( I know it's overkill for throttle/brake, but it's reliable! )

I would suggest using your steering servo for throttle/brake, and getting a Hitec for steering duty.

Wow that sucks! I swapped out my servos before ever running my truck. I used Futabas and my 3PM transmitter although the XP3D isn't a bad radio IMO. I'm running a 1400 Nimh rx pack and only 700mAh pack in my tx but I've never had problems making a days running on a single charge.
I may be wrong but I think the XP3D uses the Hi-Tec connector in the transmitter. I never found a pack for it so I use rechargeable AA Sanyo NiCd batteries.
