My rattle can paint job. Had 2 days to build my truck as well as paint a body so it's kinda a rush job. Next body is a JConcepts Manta or that cool looking Proline Silverado.

Looks good, nice job.

That's rattle can? Damn! I'm lucky to get a solid color body to look that good. haha

I've had plenty of practice painting bodies. I do some things before painting so I don't have issues while or after painting. I draw out the design I want with a Sharpie, (I can draw up flames pretty fast), then scuff the body with a scotchbrite pad, don't do the windows! Then either wash the body with some dawn dish soap and rinse it very well or I have been wiping it out with some rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to get it clean on the inside. I put the window masks on them use some liquid paint mask and put it on fairly thick but not too thick. I then let it dry in front of a small fan or just let it sit and dry.

Usually let it dry pretty good before adding another coat and let it dry over night. The next day I take my razor knife or an exacto type and cut out ALL of my design on the body before I think about painting. When I am done and ready to paint, I shake the cans pretty well then warm them up one at a time as needed in the sink with hot water and then shake it more. I always have a heat gun or hair dryer waiting when I paint. To me, the first coat is always the crucial one. I hold the body back more than the later coats and lightly mist it just getting a light first coat.

If I miss a small area, I forget about it and use the heat gun, on lowest setting, and use it to cure the first coat. Don't get the heat gun close to the body and don't leave it in one spot or disaster will happen. You are getting it a little hot to help dry the paint and cure it faster. I usually leave it sit in front of a fan for an hour or so then go back to painting. Don't go crazy trying to get in every nook and cranny, you can always focus on that for the next coat. There is more to add about painting but that can be another post so I can get up to 50 and win a Blitz! lol j/k, don't want to be a post whore. I'm done rambling now...:p
