I hate running with out the Savage X roll cage loop and when I did the IRC 1" ext. kit, I lost the loop, so I went back to the work bench and made an extension that bolts on the IRC LST mount kit:

It still needs some adjustment to get the right amount of clearance from the cooling head, but now I feel alot more cocky with the back flips! :second_place:

I just got the Savage X 4.6 yesterday, and that's the very first thing I'm doing. Putting on the head guard. I don't know why they don't do a factory install on it. It's a very useful part.

It's completely amazing how much abuse that loop can take, I never bash with a body on anymore. And it makes it look like a buggy on 'roids.

Bentover, what kind of shock setup is that?

I just finished installing my loop, and pimpin' out the ride with yellow fuel lines and Big Daddy filters. The fail-safe is in, and I'm almost done with the electrics.
Did some diamond plate on the rear deck also.
We all know, it is better to look good than to run good, and it looks mahvelous, simply mahvelous.

Those are Losi LST2 shocks on full IRC mounts, got them on Ebay for 38.00 a pair to my door.

Oh and here's the final look:

I love extended wheelbases, I'll never go back to the stock WB ever again!

I just ordered the big ACNCM aluminum cooling head. Do you know if the ring will clear it?
I also ordered another spring set from HPI, along with the reverse module. I'm so spoiled by reverse on the Tmaxxs that I can't imagine being without it.

Those shocks are absolutely HUGE. How well do they perform compared to the stockers?

The head should clear, stock is about 1/2", but even if it doesn't clear the roll bar handle (above the tranny) takes 80% of the initial grunt of the impacts.
The shocks make any Savage handle like a Losi LST, smooth and silky over really rough stuff and no more bent shafts. The bigger the bore, the better the performance, ever notice how a stock Savage bumps and jumps and kicks like a horny mule over rough terrain? LST shocks sure seem to castrate that mule. :spit:

Losi LST2 shocks, the LST2 bodies are threaded whereas the original LST was not. Also don't bother looking at Muggy or Aftershock shocks, they're junk.

Get them here, cheap, cheap, cheap!!!

I've bought from all of these sellers, no problems.

Great, bent. I'll be looking into them.

And sorry, I didn't notice before that you listed them as Losi LST2s in the earlier thread.
Thanks for the info.

It's a Mugen MBX5T 150cc tank, I can't remember the part #, but Here's a few extra pics of the mounting:

I made this bracket, the stock linkage didn't work here so I used the STS linkage instead:
