Hey people how you doing? I'm new to this, i just brought a savage xl and I'm breaking it in now, but i am having a slight issue. Once its shuts off i start it back up and withingseconds it shutss off on me. Can anyone guide me
thanks

I heard about the weather thing. I'm from ny

You should not break in an engine under 50 degrees out because the air is thinner and that makes the engine run lean on top of the heat not staying in the engine. If you must do the break in then you need to get it up to temp and then check your needle settings. If your still having trouble then hpi has pretty good customer support

you can try and warm the engine with a hair dryer first same thing happened to me and heating the cooling head helped alot. its also a new engine so thats common

I just broke my LRP.30 in yesterday and it was 35 degress out. Temps got to 190. The book says 160-195 is perfect. I ran 5 tanks like the book said it went flawlessly. So don't let these guys scare you. You can break in a nitro engine in cold weather. Makes sure your temps a right and monitor them often and you should be ok. No where in the instructions did it say to wait till it's at least 50 degress outside nor did it advise against breaking it in in clod weather.

o also if its cold outisde where you are i highly reccomend waiting till temps go up atleast to 55 or 60

I disagree I broke in my LRP.30 yesterday and it was 35 outside. I just followed the instructions made sure my temps were right and it went flawlessly. Nowhere in the instructions did it say to wait till it's at least 50 degrees outside, nor did it advise against against breaking in in cold temps.
