just got a brand new savage xl took it out of the box,put the roto start in it to spin the motor over a few times and it wont spin the motor,the roto start spins the rear case fine but no piston movement.is there a gear off inside the truck??
 
Are you using the roto start 2 that came with the truck? If not, you need to know that the roto start needs to be turned in reverse.
 
Did you connect the battery in correctly so it spins the right direction?
red to + / black to - ?

Also - you owb may be slipping.
