The XL is my first RC car. I have run about 3/4 of a gallon of 20% so far. Tunning seems good (it's fast) but I never hear any shifting? My friends two speed stadium truck makes an obvious sound when shifting. Should I also? The shop where I bought it said it's close ratio gears and you wouldn't hear it. Any advice? Thanks!

The slipper might be loose enough to cause that. When a 2-speed shifts there's a noticeable drop in the engine RPM. Even with the stock XL 3-speed you would definitely hear 2 RPM drops.

I'm not sure how tight the slipper should be, so I'll wait for a Savvy owner to tell you.

Close the adjustment nut down, then back off 1/4 turn. That's a safe point to leave it. If it's still slipping due to excess wear, you can tighten it a hair more. NEVER close it completely or you'll break something else in the drive train.
