Savage xl carb

Hi there any one able to help just breaking in my new savage xl ,everything ok apart from when I break the engine stalls...
This trucks abit different than my baja I've just sold bit more temperamental ..
Runs great apart from that , apart from roto start won't turn engine over so I used a drill...
Can any one help.

I'm honestly not sure about the stalling under braking thing, but I have heard of it before....I think it is kinda common. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I chimes in on that one. As far as the roto-start now being able to kick the engine over, just crack your glow plug loose a tiny bit. That should bleed off enough pressure and still let it start. Once it's running, snug it back up.

Your carb is closing when you hit the brake. Turn in your idle screw to set your carb gap to about 1mm.
