I am just going to throw in a bit of help here on some issues easily looked over when someone is new to the hobby.

If you are have problems with tuning even though you've watched the youtube videos put out by hpi and other enthusiasts, I recommend calling the hobby shop and seeing if they would instruct you in person, as it is much easier that way. (Might have to pay a few bucks)

I want to say about the K5.9 it has been known to have issues in the past. see if the mid speed needle is real loose.

One important thing to understand with nitro, you won't kill your engine running it too rich, but that one time its too lean can cause havok to the parts inside.

Since this is your first , I would recommend an engine from the LRP line as opposed to Picco, since the LRPs are really easy to tune.

For your hop up parts I was wondering Do you plan on racing? bashing? or both?

:D

Yea i think it is a bit loose seems like it in differnt postion then book and other pictures and i know i did not touch the mid needle ...id like to use it as a all round truck bashing and racing...i have a few buddys they got nitro cars and trucks but they went with something bit easyer...I'm deff. gonna be talking to buddy at hobby store see what he can show me....for a LRP motor would i need do anyother mods?

No mods needed for the LRPs they are a direct bolt in. I do not know enough about all three engines to comment on what is better, but I do know if you plan to race in any ROAR legal races you may want to get the .28 as anything higher than that is not legal. Just check on the rules where you plan on racing.

Besides the motor you need to get a pipe. This is were things can get really expensive or sort of expensive. ERCM pipes are top notch, and also run top dollar. And if you feel like shelling out that amount of cash you should get the engine modded by ercm as well. http://www.extremercmods.com/ that is their site.

I would recommend the above if you plan on racing hard, or just want something that is balls to the wall. Though all this sounds nice and dandy the fact still is you are new to the hobby and will make mistakes like we all have, do you want to spend your money now and possibly have something happen to it due to user error? Personally I would go for the .32 or the .28. (I have an XL with the .30) And I wouldnt mod it just yet. If you want when you buy the engine buy yourself a rod/piston/cylinder set so once you've ran the crap out of that motor stock you can get it modded. Or in my opinion just wait and see whats out when that engine is on its last leg.

Basically in all what I am trying to say is that until you know your specific truck, baby it a little even if you have all the cash to fix it.

for other hop ups theres RPM, Fast Lane Machines, new era models and some others if you want more let me know and I'll pull out my bookmarks.

Welcome to RCNT and enjoy the hobby :)

Thanks for all the info i will deff look into ercm and will baby it ant get used to it will play with it more in morning and if i have any questions will post back in this thread

I have the k5.9 and it was annoying for about 10 tanks (tuning issues). Once you get it broken in it gets easier to tune. My k5.9 runs like a champ now. It tunes easily and is pretty powerful. I love it, I'm sure you can buy better ones, but I would run my stock engine till it breaks, then upgrade.

OK THANKS muchly appritiate the help ill run few more tanks threw when I'm home next week :):D
