Ok since I have been out of the game for awhile I have a question that may be answered on here but I can't figure out. what type of modifications will you have to do with the old style savage SS to fit the new savage LCG TVP's onto it. I read through the stick thread, but I don't know how much effort it will take to put these on and since the savage turns like a tank, I figure these will be a good thing at a reasonable cost!

also about glow plugs do you run hot plugs when its hot out or do you run them to make your engine run hotter, I figured this would be acomplished when you lean it out, or do you run them when you run your engine hotter??
thanks for the info! and what should we run in the fall with the k4.6 @ about 50-60 degrees F

so what is this conversion kit that I have read about for savages? I can't find any info on HPI's site

It's pretty much 90% of the truck. The only things not in it are the engine, exhaust, radio gear, and gears in the transmission/diffs. I'm sure there's some more, but that's the quick rundown.

well I think if I get an itch I will just go with something for the old savage ss not the x, too much $ and not nearly enough gain for the $

just by the x tvp's, they should fit the ss parts with no mods, just have to use the x roll bar or mod the old aluminum one. also install the new cut engine braces on the engine plate, so the rear center axle clears it.or dreamel you old ones.

no, but all the parts are the same locations and should bolt to that chassis with very little mods if any.and i have seen someone running them 2, also hpi site says it should fit. If it was me I would buy an aftermarket chassis, like fastlane , innovation , vertigo, or twisted toys. they are better than the hpi, they are lower lcg than hpi. most you can still use the roto start and have more options built in the tvp's. as fare as the savage X it should bolt to the ss tranny and bulkheads, but you need the new engine plate and you might have to use a pull start, not sure.

thats ok I have and love my pull start so no big deal. no problems, its just that the really good and low TVP's are a lot of ca$h! now the engine plate is the purple thing that the engine mount bolts to right?
