If I do not get it refueled in time & the engine quits, it is hard as hell to restart. I have put 12 gallons through it, so is the motor just getting old??? Still hauls ass when you get it going.....

12 gallons? Bronze that puppy and put it on a shelf. She's had a good life.
ANYTIME you get more than 6 gallons of use from a RTR engine, you got your money's worth.

I see what Scrogg is saying but it might just need to be richened up. Being that the weather is hot you need more nitro to keep your engine cool. If this doesn't work try getting a lower % fuel like 20%

I've found that many engines do not like to start when hot, whether they are new or old. Usually, if hot and I don't want to wait, I hold the throttle open and quick rip the starter a couple times. This helps the fuel flow into the hot carb and cool it. As soon as it fires, I let off the throttle.

By saying hot doesn't necessarily mean it was overheated. Lower nitro % won't change anything for starting.

Sounds like she's about done to me too.

I congratulate you my friend for getting 12 gallons through her. Do like Scrogg said, put it on a shelf and worship it lol
