Savage X 4.6 Reverse Gear ( or not as the case is )

Hi folks, I bought a genuine HPI reverse module and servo kit and followed the instructions very carefully while I fitted it.The problem that I am having is that sometimes, when I change into reverse, the gearbox does not engage and the car just revs. I have tried adjusting the servo for fine tuning of the position of the lever but it makes no difference. If you have any ideas about what I have done or needs to be done, I would love to know.

Push/pull the linkage by hand. If it will engage in either gear every time you do it then your servo throw needs to be lengthened, either by a travel adjustment or a longer arm.

Sometimes you need to "choke up" on the brass locking collars to get the rod to move through its full arc to engage the gears properly...
