I've just got myself a savage x, run it in, tuned it and everything, but after about 12 tanks the rotostart was just spinning in the hole. The plate had come loose and the engine cover plate had sheered off at one corner (don't no how). Anyway got a new part on warrenty and fitted it and all works well. But i was just wondering if whilst i had the coverplate off wether i should have put a few drops of oil or anything in the engine, as the plate was off for a while, dont know wether the old oil may have evaporated partly? When i ran it today it got rather hot as well - any ideas?

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about the oil. Because you just took it apart I would guess it got hot due to an air leak.

Do you recon i should take the cover plate off again and put some gasket sealent or sometiong on it? Thanks.
