Sup guys,

I am giving thought with going to CVD's from the diff to the wheels on my savage. Well the guy at my LHS keeps trying to sell me a set of Dynamite CVD's for my savage. He swears up and down this will be a better option than the HD Doggies that HPI puts out. I already have purchased HD diff cups for everything. I am now considering CVD's as well. Please let me know your thoughts. Dynamite CVD's

Nice. The dust boots are great for longevity of the universal joint. Can't speak to the strength of the material used (could be stainless or not...stainless is soft). I have a set of HotBodies CVDs on my Savage and they work well. So I will gladly recommend CVDs as an upgrade, just not going to comment on Dynamite's set.

Well my LHS has them for sale at $30.00 per set. Which is well below Suggested Retail. I know at some point when I finally do get my savage running right as far as the trannie is concerned I will be twisting doggies and all that. I am just wondering if anyone has any real world experience with these. LHS swears these are tougher and better than the HPI HD bones.

I think I'm going to have to go with CVD's. I finally was able to get parts to get my Savage running again, but upon putting everything back, I noticed the center cups where the bones go into has grooves where the dogbones wore into them causing the truck to bind up when I roll it forward or backward. I can't have that.

I just bought the center set for my Savage and should have them installed this weekend. I had the Dynamites on my TMaxx and never had a problem with them at all. Except that time I forgot to loktite the set screws......

Anyhow, I can't attest to those in particular, but my past experience with Dynamite CVD's was VERY positive, so much so, that I bought them for my Savage

it may just be the pic but they appear to be fairly slim, don't look too beefy

I have a question. This doesn’t exactly pertain to the dynamite CVDs. But New Era sells Titanium center and "outboard" (out to the wheel) dog bones that are really thick in the center and then they taper down to fit in the drive cups and allow travel. Is there any real reason that they are made thicker in the center? I would think that the skinniest spot would be the weakest so there would really be no reason to make any part of the of bone thicker than the ends that have to fit in the drive cups.

Gofmoid, I can attest that the dynamite CVD's are beefy. I held a set in my hand before I decided that I could not afford them when I was last at the LHS. They look really well constructed. Another reason I posted here before I bought them is the fact that I don't know enough about them. I can only trust the guy at the LHS as far as I can throw him. In other words I want someone with real world expereince with it before I purchase them. Being that Christian has had good luck with them in the past I trust the guy at the LHS with this information. Think that makes sense.

I had a set for my t-maxx and they proved that they were not master of disaster proof. I think I bend two of them, I know one for sure but I can't remember whether I tanked two of them or not. The are made from chrome plated mild steel. If I were you I'd think about hardened steel ones. Based on my experience with the newer versions of the Savage the stock dogbones are plenty strong. If you have one of the 1st gen savages the stock dogbones were a little too brittle steel but it was something they fixed on the newer versions fo the savage.

I am also interested about the RD logics CVDs. I was thinking of getting a wasp .26 and was debating on which cvds i should get.

Hmmm, Well I don't think I drive anything as hard as you do EL. If I don't get my savage tranny worked out I will never have to worry about breaking a dogbone again. I am still thinking of getting the HD dogbones. Only think I don't dig about them is the possibility of losing one on the track or somewhere if it breaks. Newayz later.

yes i bought the hotbodies and there great 3 gallons on them of bashing jumping and erverthing eles and they are fine and I'm running 26 out law and 26 wasp and a hyper 8 port and also on my truckzilla
