RC Driving Style
Just curious what other folks do and enjoy doing when they bash their Savages. Most especially now that a good part of the northern U.S. is cold and snow covered.

I am from Michigan and live next to a private lake. Before the winter my buddy and I (who owns a T-Maxx .25 engine) made our own track. It is a very good size track that we can "open up" driving our trucks to our hearts' content. We have made a few jumps, on it. One jump we use a skate board jump ramp and my Savage can go 7-8 ft. in the air. So far I have not broken any major part yet.

Now that we have snow on the ground, we try to run our trucks as long as the wind chill is bearable. The truck can handle it for the most part, we just make sure to winterize our trucks and immediately clean them up after hours of bashing.

So.... what do you guys do in your part of the country/globe, it would be interesting to hear our international friends in R/C what they do with their R/Cs or trucks all year round.

I Planed on Bashing mine this winter but No snow yet. Other than that durning the summer, I take mine to a park and bash up these 5 foot hills. Where are you from in Mi, I live next to Detroit.

i live in california. no snow here. but rains a lot and a lot ofdirt. so i usually go to a hill by m house and just play on the hill. i only usually d it when is muddy so i dont get dust all ove ad it looks cool too. hehe.

Try it on loose dirt, it's actually a lot of fun too. I have not actually tried mine in the mud, what kind of tires do you use? :cheeky:

i got big joes. they have a lot of traction even with just back wheel drive cause i lost my front dogbone and didnt put it in yet. the big joes are good but pretty heavy.

I used the Imex RC Baja tires for dirt. But for Christmas, I got myself those Hot Bodies Mayhem tires on Revolution wheels. These are huge and awsome for handling and making sharp turns on dirt. You can actually pump it while making fast turns and it will stick.

Not to rub it in, but I am bashing all the time! Live in Phoenix and it is a little cold lately but nice enough to go beat up my friends Tmax. It is during the summer we hang our hats and put up the Savage for a few months. just gets too hot to stand out there and drive em. I found a hiddin motorcycle track to go bash on. I should have some pictures soon......

I guess that's the beauty of living in a place with warmer climate, you can bash almost anytime you feel like it. And, like what you said and what we all know, the Savage will not let you down.
That's why even in the snow, we manage to run our Savage and still get tons of satisfaction! Thanks man.
:)

I'm here in Chicago and the wind chill factor is killer cold... no snow really.. but cold... I still play on the BMX tracks every Sat.. or on my days off... if not i play in the yard or at the Hobby shop... I beat the hell outta my truck and run both stock and UFO Mayhems....

TRD don't you just love those Mayhem tires, I have them on HB Revolution wheels and they look great, good bite on dirt and on-road as well. I guess you and I understand how it is bashing in the cold with freezing temps. Good luck on your bashing in the windy city.
Cheers.

I love my UFO/Mayhems... I was going to go with Mad Force tires but turns out the wheel doesn 't fit... I like the size it's perfect... you do need a stronger steering servo.. other than that it helps it haul azz

Me...I bash where-ever I can find big piles of dirt to catch some air off of. I also love to find good mudholes and see just how much mud it takes to choke an engine. So far...not enough mud.

I've played in the snow. Takes a hair dryer to get things warmed up prior to start, but it is great fun to kick up some powder and do donuts on command (this works in loose dirt also).

Name a terrain, and I've probably subjected my T and Savage to it. Including some submersible work...both intentional and unintentional.

My favorite sites are those where there is current construction going on. Sometimes the big earth movers will actually help out and create things for you. It helps to have friends who have such sites and control the earth movers...just ask El Pirata.

my bashing right now consists of breaking it in...then..i got bmx ramps that work pretty well

12 ft of air and 30 foot drop off my friends deck. Only spur gears and stock dogbones break usually but i got close to bending the chassis afterthe brace came loose

This is Great! Has anyone tried running their trucks on ice and what shoes they have on? We have a lake and kids are already playing hockey on it. I have not really tried running my truck on it, but will surely do so when the weather clears, still need to sharpen my hockey skates. Happy New Year everyone!

SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW... Mayhem Mayhem Tires... adjust shocks on the lower arms to give it the highest ground clearance....

Bashing styles in Phoenix

Sorry guys, we were out Sunday with t-shirts on, and we took this video. In Phoenix, there is alwasy a construction site nearby. Roads, houses, malls, whatever.

Sunday Bash

RT - those were great shots and I am just jealous about the weather you are having. This is the main reason why I wanted to know what other locations do for bashing their MT Trucks year-round.
Thanks again - cheers

I've been all over teh states lately setting up stores and distributors. I've seen alot of people take old abandoned farms and turn them into bash tracks.

Take a look at www.barnstormers.com, and see what they did. Maybe you know someone that will let you have their empty farmhouse to bash in.
