Savage 25 lpr z28 motor......replaced spur gear and pad....tightened slipper nut all the way down....almost no movement, engine revs up but truck does not move much....only moves at like 1/16 throttle.....show clutch to guy at hobby shop, says its looks alittle worn but not that bad...and says tranny seems fine

Please help with suggestions....

Alright, first things first.

With the slipper nut locked down when you give it throttle do you see the trans input shaft (on back side of slipper/spur) moving? Meaning, does the trans get power through the slipper?

If yes, then you need to look under the truck and see if the trans is outputting that power to the front and rear dogbones. If the outdrives are turning, then the trans is most likely OK. With the outdrives turning do the driveshafts turn? If not, the grub/set screw on the outdrives might have backed out.

If the driveshafts turn then check the front and rear diffs. You see where I'm going? Process of elimination. Follow the path of power to the wheels and you should find the issue in just few minutes.

HTH...

that grub screw is in.....checked that.....its hard to test out because if I pick it up and give it throttle while looking underneath...everything moves.....it just seems to not move with resistance on the wheels
