on my savage the break disc has been rubbed away what is the best disc to put on savage 25

i use the hpi double disk set up twin metal discs, they stop on the dime if not flip you on your lid!!!

in the store the hpi set is about 18.00, I've seen them on ebay for 12.99.

Depending on what battery setup you have, you'll need to relearn how to brake again. I did the dual disk upgrade about 2 weeks ago and loved it, when the brakes are cool, it would flip the thing over if you hit the brakes! But after driving for a bit it would just stop on a dime without flipping...

BUT! just a few days ago I upgraded the battery pack from the 4.8v (4 AA batteries) to the 6.0v rechargable pack and HOLY COW what a difference, I'm backing the brake adjustment off because EVERY time I hit the brakes it flips. If your going more than a few MPH it will flip and land back on its wheels. So I wonder if a single disk and a 6.0v system wouldn't be just fine? the dual disk definatly work better. Maybe it needs ABS (anti-lock brakes) LOL

thats what I need then ;) I am having a real tough time controlling high speed stops without sending this thing tumbling down the road.

loosen up your adjustment

i have the same porblem try a 6.0 1400mah and a good servo the i have is not the best but i like it very much....hitec 605bb

I got the dual disk brakes on my Savage and they work great. I kept having to make adjustments on them also to get them just right but they now just go into a skid, great stoping power well worth the $20.

That ABS feature can't be easy on a servo. It would basically cause a servo glitch on purpose. Poor little servo's...

I have the 2 disk setup as well. I'm running a standard airtronics servo and it still endo's on me if I don't back the adjustment up a bit.

I played around with the adjustment today and finally found a happy medium after things had warmed up. IF it just nail the brakes on first application it will flip it but not so much after that.

hope it doesn't look like your thread got highjacked Tannera, this is all good info you'll need after the mod.

I have the ABS feature on my Futaba 3PM and I am using it with the dual disc brake option. I am still not sure if I like the ABS feature. My radio has about 4 different ways to limit braking power.
