What plug are you guys running in the HPI 21BB? The factory plug has no markings (as excpected) and niether the truck manual or the engine manual says any more than a stupid part number. Long, short? It looks like a short plug. I am running O'Donnell 20% fuel. I cuerrently have an OS #8 in but if the plug is a long one all I'm doing is dropping my compression.

I run the #8. I kind of stumbled across it since all my other plugs were burning out quickly during break-in, and that was the only one that seemed to last so I kept using it.

I run a gold series long plug from Fox. Christian put me on to them and they work well.

The OS #8 plug worked the best for me too in the 21bb engine. Once again it all depends on where you live.

os 8 or mc58 for a good med plug, warm outside

mc59 fir winter, hot plug,

rumore that I've read on HOT HOT days, a mc59 hot plug is used, it will help keep engine temps down do to being able to be run richer..

on my 8 port though.. it eats mc59 plugs in like 1/2 gal of fuel.. getting better success with the #8 and the 59, its a nice dard roing on the edge of the plug du eto castor oil of the traxxas fuel i use, the coil section is nice and silver, but 2 rings up it melts.. if you have ever seen this.. it is a #4

Thanks CRSMP5, that is a very good picture and description for reading the plugs. I've done the breakin and run the Savage once after that. I'll pull the plug and look at it closely. I have an OS #8 in now. That is what I use in my Mugen Athlete and Losi GTX (both of which are old from past years of racing). I just could not beleive that HPI did not even specify plug recomendations anywhere in thier manuals. My brother was about to use a plug with an idler bar until I stopped him (in his T-Maxx). This is the kind of thing that a new person can easily do. Can you use the McCoy plugs in the 21BB? Just wondering as possible experimenting with heat range. I assume so, since I'm hearing people are using the MC59.
