Savage 2-Speed help...please...

I have a Savage 25 RTR and I have gone from the transmission tune screw all the way tight to almost all the way backed out and this thing will NOT shift. I'm pretty sure its getting enough RPM's b/c when it comes bye me it sounds like a regular car stuck in 1st gear and it needs to shift. I'm TOTALLY new to hobby grade RC's so please use small words. Thanks for any help or tips!

Is the engine new? Is the slipper clutch slipping? Are the clutch shoes worn out? Are you adjusting the correct screw?

If the engine is new, it's not uncommon to not get the engine to shift until the majority of the break in process of the engine has been done and the engine has been tuned to get higher RPM's. When breaking it in, settings are normally so rich that your really low on RPM's.

If the slipper is slipping prematurely, it will slip a lot when it goes into second so you won't hear it shift or see the speed increase. You will just hear the engine rev up. The same goes for a worn set of clutch shoes.

Everything on the truck is 2 weeks old with about 3/4 gallon ran through it. I think i finally got the tuning process down, except for the transmission.

Can you explain to me what the slipper clutch is and what it does please? Thank you for all the help.

the slipper is behind the big plastic gear on the tranny, easy way to adjust is tighten it all the way down, useing the nut that sticks out from tranny then turn it a quarter turn back, its job is to let the spur gear slip in cas of a sudden shock to the drive train ect. if its to lose it could cas your tranny to not shift, have a bad take off or if to lose it will mealt the spure.
