Ok... what tires?
I was thinking of running 16/47 with savage old school tires on 17mm rims. (same, 3 speed, bigger engine...)
I may just stick with 16/49, but I did just buy two new 47T spurs to try with smaller t-maxx chevrons. Still waiting on the rims to show up for the savage tires...

I ran maxx size tires on my savage with a .30 engine geared 17/47 with a 2-speed. No clutch issues or engine overheating issues.
That big old K5.9 will have no trouble pushing the taller gearing, especially with the 3- speed.
