My phone has suddenly started showing a no sim card found message. Tells me to reboot the phone. Reboot to me means shut off, pop the battery out and fire it back up. My service bars come back up, phone works like normal. Sometimes for an hour, sometimes for 5 minutes. Any ideas? I've popped the card out and put it back in a couple times. Phone has never been wet, dropped or even dirty. I haven't installed any new apps lately. Another thing is that even with 1-2 bars, it won't always send a text. Says, fail, then I resend and they usually go right out. Sometimes not though. Thanks for any replies as always.

Now it won't read the sim card at all. Scanned the phone with avg and norton. Didn't find anything. If nobody has any ideas tonight, I'll call at@t in the morning. Post what I find out.

My completely uneducated guess? It sounds like mechanical failure, to me. Could be a bad card, or a bad card slot.

Id think bad card too. I've not had that problem at all on my Galaxy but I think I did along time ago on a blackberry.

My nextel would do the same thing and it was a bad sim card. Good luck and don't use a BFH to fix it.

I factory reset it last night. Didn't seem to help. Shut it off and went to sleep. Turned it on this morning and it's back to normal. So I dunno. It was loading pages funny as well, acting kinda choppy and what not. Now it seems fine. Thought maybe I got a virus of some sort. Scanned it with avg and norton. Came up clean...

Went back to bein screwy, so I called at@t. Ended up that they had my old phone on my account. Had my sim card number mixed up withsomebody elses. Straightened things out on their end and this thing runs better than ever. Text me bergoff!

Good thing it wasn't a a defect of the phone :o I would have tested it with another card, but if at&t have fixed it, text on : D
