Colors down. Looking like an X-Wing fighter strapped to the roof.

This is the closest I can get to the actual color without an SLR. The lighting suffers, but the upper fender color is accurate.

The purple wheel nuts are what it came with, and the hobby shop was out of black.

The best is yet to come. The front light buckets with LEDs and the rear is in for some major construction.

Very very nice Ralph. That kind of design is right up my alley. I'm on your side now... the wheels look good. Nice vision bud.

Those rims match the silver trim. The spoiler is also silver, so to balance it all out I'll be using the same silver in the light buckets, even though it's not stock.

Personally Id tint the windows. Looks good.

Thanks, I'm really happy with how it turned out. I WILL be tinting the windows.
This got a LOT of paint dumped into it. First a coat of candy red, then a clear coat with some russet pearl powder mixed into it, another coat of candy, another clear coat with copper and silver glitter, another layer of clear with the pearl dust, then all the upper curves were backed with chrome and then everything was backed in black.
The photos will never do justice to the realistic shading it gets in different light.
I got the deep, deep rich ruby port color I was going for.

The candy coats are Spaz Stix, The clear is Createx, the red russet pearl powder is from an art supply store, the chrome backing is Spaz Stix, the black backing is Createx and the silver "roll bar" is Parma.

Forgot to mention in the earlier post, but Spaz Stix root beer was also laid down along the bottom inch of the entire car. You can't see it, but it adds to the depth of the shades.

I haven't gotten Parma clear in several years. When a local hobby shop was going out of business, I bought out almost all their Parma paints, and all the bottles of clear hardened in their closed containers in the next year or two. The paints that are still left are fine.
The Createx is in multi sized bottles in my art supply store. Latex based, very smooth and ready to spray.

Lessen, when I use Spaz Stix I have to clear the airbrush with lacquer thinner. I'm about to spray some transparent root beer and need to thin it with something that won't eat into the Lexan.
What do you recommend?

I have no problems with any spaz stuff eating into the lexan. I use their transparent blue, yellow and orange all the time.

I've used it before, but on my current project I need to thin it. It's lacquer thinner that might fog the lexan, and I have to keep it completely clear.

I've never thinned Spaz but I have to thin all of my pactra paints. I use their thinner it's part #RC75 and comes in a 3.5oz jar. It also comes in a larger canister. It's quality stuff and breaks down the paint very well. Now that is opposed to the stuff I buy at Lowe's which I use STRICTLY for cleaning as it does not break down the paint as well as the Pactra stuff. I wish it did cuz it's a lot more bang for the buck but when it comes to mixing your colors you certainly want to use a high quality thinner and the Pactra stuff is on point.

*edit*

BTW this stuff is crystal clear.. no yellow hue like your standard hardware store stuff

You need to thin spaz root beer? I have never had to thin spaz stix hard anno paints.

He doesn't "need" to. He just wants to. He's using it as a deepening effect.

Ralph, just be careful not to thin too much or the paint will not bond properly and you risk flaking. I had a lot of issues with that when I firs started.
