Safest place to download Music and vids?

What program do you think is the safest as in spyware and viruses to download music and videos?

Peer 2 Peer sites are usually a major problem.
DO NOT, under any circumstances go to Grogster(or Grokster). My neighbor recommended it, and I pretty much lost control of my computer. It took me almost 3 days to get it out, and get things back to normal. Since you are agreeing to their program download, part of their program will include a browzer hijacker and a home page hijack.
By the time you realize what they've done to you, you have a big problem.
Aside from having to locate a program to remove most of it, they hid several files under the name Jupiter, and xupiter, which needed to be located and manually removed. If you have any virus or ad blockers, you'll see that name pop up in it's problem blocker database.
A week later, my neighbor, after using them for downloads, had to totally reformat his computer and reinstall the OS.

kazaalite is... it's a hacked version of kazaa that makes you look like a supreme being and there isn't any adware I don't think.

I used it a year or so ago and had it installed for over a year without any real ramifications to my system.

The funny thing is, I downloaded it with the crappy kazaa original program.

I use Shareaza. I don't ever have a problem finding anything I need on there from programs to songs to videos, and yes, I believe there is even some porn to be had. Haha, really though, it's the whip. I haven't found a bug on there yet, and I've been using it for a little over a year now. kazza was filled with Shareaza isn't. And it's free. www.Shareaza.com

Yesterday i joined Napster and its that shiznit!!9.95 a month and i can download all i want. but if you want to "Burn" a song its a dollar the first time for that song.so say i want "Drop it like its Hot" i pay .99 cents and i can burn it as many times as i please. its good for me because i dont have an MP3 player or anything.be careful with KaZaa its really weird.

Kazaa was really easy to use, but it wont work on my comp any more. The spyware on that thing was crazy.

I've been using WinMX for quite sometime. It's pretty good for me. Only problem is you occasionally download a song and when you play it, it's a different song. You can usually find what you are looking for but the amount of available content has shrunk since the RIA Bastards pulled their shiznit.

Kazaa sucks.. Its a good place to pick up spyware and viruses. Limewire is what I use and it works good. No complaints so far. But ya gotta create a new file and move them into a totally seperate file and then delete the one with the music in because downloading music for free off the net is illegal and they really be crackin down on it lately.

I've been using this for sometime. It works fine for my purposes.

Also, if you're a bigtime nerd you can get into newsgroups. I had to do this rescently when some of my fav content suddenly disappeared from the easy to get places.

i use limewire now and been using it for a while and i like it. but before limewire, i used grokster for at least 5-6 months, no problems for me. although that was about a year ago. so maybe something changed.but i like limewire now. and my cousin has morpheus and that seems pretty good too.

You are better off especially since downloading copyrighted material is Illegal and who feels like getting a special letter from the recording industry telling you they are suing you for $100,000 a song.

I would say ABC(Another bittorrent...) or bittorrent I use to download the torrents off of supernova.org but it is now down but I am sure you can find another place to get torrents!.

With that said, I have had great luck with bear share light. No Spyware and a lot of legal content to get.
