Here is my current setup.

MGT w/ rs310 rx, Hitec 945MG (I think) for steering, AE stock for throttle

Savage w/ all HPI stock equipment

MGT 4.60 w/ all stock rx/tx/servos for now.. I just got it today

Mayhem w/ all stock (JR XR3i FM, JR Rx, and stock JR servos (Z-590 and Z270)

I have an extra rs310 Rx that I used to use in my NTC3, but I sold it with the servos (JR ones) and kept the Rx.

What should I put the Rx in.. I am thinking MGT 4.6.. and what should my next upgrades be?? Why is the Savage servo so fast and the more expensive hitec 945 so slow?? Plus, the screw on the 945 keeps coming loose. Is this a typical Hitec problem or do all servos loosen up a lot. (I put loc tite on the screw too.)

I want to get really high end servos.. but that is not an option..
I thought about switching over to the M11 because the menu/screen looks easier to follow that the JR screen.

What do you guys think??

Here are the specs on the stock HPI radio equipment for the Savage.

TF-4 radio gear with 3-channel super narrowband radio and high torque steering servo (70 oz./in. & .20 sec. speed @ 4.8v or 90 oz./in. & .16 sec. speed @ 6.0v)

I run a 5 cell Rx pack.. so I am getting the 6v speed and power.

I am supposed to be getting (0.12 sec/deg @ 6V) and (153 oz/in @ 6V) with the 945.

Ok, let me try this...

My HPI servo is supposed to be slower than the Hitec945mg in my MGT.

Is this right??

Hello,

Unfortunately, the HiTec may be slower. More money DOES mean better, but sometimes not in every way. The RTR or "included" parts, alothough not often the best of quality, aren't always the WORST. Its all about the specs...not just the price. IMO if you're not competing in some sort of organized race, the 1/100th of a second time difference would barely seem noticable. In any case, good luck and have fun. :wasted:

Well, I agree with the time not mattering, but I mean, the mgt seems so slow with the hitec and the savage seem so fast with the stock servo.

It just pisses me off. I just want to rip all the servos out of both trucks and start over. haha
