Okay right now I can't make up my mind with either the VXL Rustler or the Slash with a Castkle Creations 6900kv setup. I know the CC is probably the better motor and especially with the ability to set it up via computer is really nice, but would the 6900kv setup just be too fast and not torquey enough? The reason I choose the 6900 is because I'm buying off towerhobbies and the easy payments..

So what is it, VXL Rustler or CC Slash?

I've read that the 4600 has a over heating issue plus it doesn't have the easy pay. :(

i agree with Alpine mostly, but heres my opinion i think that you should stay with the 6900 set up and work on the gear ratios if it doesn't produce enough torque for your likings because 4600kv is pretty fast but 6900kv might make you s&#$ yur pants

Just putting in my two cents here. I have a Slash with stock pinion and gear. I use a 7 cell 4600 hump back and after that goes down I have two 4200mah 6 cell. All of that going into a Velenion/VXL set up. Yes, even with brushless you can get some really good performance out of cheaper batteries instead of going LiPO's. For me, it's plenty fast.
CC is probably the better product and much more expensive but you'll probably be getting your $ worth.
With a 6900kv I would expect you to be doing more flat dirt surfaces or pavement.

how about Mamba Monster Max :hehe: it would be hell of a beast...

With the 2200kv motor? Hell if you can fit that "can" in the Slash mount, let me know, I'll be buying one LMAO. Probably have to get some major harden steel gears too. :\

The best setup i have found is a cc mamba maxx esc and the velenion motor. LOVE IT.

Side note, Just picked up a rustler VXL, duratrax ice charger, and venom 2s 5000mah lipo for one of our inmates for $600 from my lhs.

I don't have slash but I would love too.

I ran that set up in my pede and it was killer, I could run 3s with no problems!

You have that backwards, the 4600 runs cooler than the other systems....and the Castle esc's are better because of the programing but the Velineon is a great motor, I would takt that over a CC motor.
