That's the kind of stuff you can never really explain to another person.

When I was in college, one of my suitemates was a classical guitar major. He would always practice at night. It was always so cool to crash after a long day with him playing in the living room....

Oh, and drummer, you brought up a good name. Boston. The guitarist, Tom Scholtz, is a freaking genius. I was floored when I found out he graduated from MIT.

And the high voices were definitely from the Spandex....

Tom Scholtz, he made his own board.....so he could come up with the crazy awesome guitar sound.....thats what my dad told me haha

haha spandax and long hair....hey if those stupid converses that are no longer used for the origional purpose could come back mabye that could too, and classic rock...only it would be modern classic crock..haha...a whole new generation

i can dream can't i ????

Played guitar since I was like 10. Never really took it too seriously. Mostly self-taught. In and out of a few bands in high school and college. I have just always been a music freak. And I had the pleasure of working in a record store for a couple of years. That was awesome...

I'll throw my 2 cents in...

I've been drumming for over 12 years now, believe me it is impossible to select a "best drummer". It depends on what type of music the drummer normally plays to.

That being said my favorites are:

Rock = Rod Morgenstein
All around - Vinnie Colautia, Ricky Lawson, Akira Jimbo, Billy Ward
Jazz - Dave Weckl, Steve Smith, Horacio Hernandez

If I had to pick one. I'd have to say Dave Weckl. His drum solo in the 2002 Drummer's Collective DVD is considered by many one of the best improvisations ever recorded.

yeah steve smith was CRAZY i saw I'm at adrum clinc...MANNN that guy was good...and fast...he did this crazy hi hat solo where he stood up and played with his leg..i was like WAAAAAA

i say neil preart...i can play most of the stuff i hear on the radio along with it but when i hear a rush song I'm like...what the hell, then i look up the tabs or sheet music and I'm like WHAT THE HELL?!??!?!?!?!how does he do it?

btw the last post was not from bashmaster...it was from me, i was at his house
