So those 3 times was it because of batteries all 3 times? Maybe you have a deeper issue we need to explore

I have a computerized charger. I can see how much I ran the battery down based on how much energy is put into it. I simply ran it too long. Actually the first couple times were when I was running the stock holder with AA batteries. Now I have a NIMH pack, another is coming with the truggy I bought, and eventually I'll pick up some LIFe packs. Point is, my fault, I ran the pack down too far. It's a 1200 mah rated pack and I've managed to put 1350 back in it once. Simply draining it too far. Two packs should be enough for a typical practice day but when I start racing I'll swap them each hour.

Throttle return springs have never worked on the run-aways I've had - to the point I don't use them anymore. RocketRdr...I got your back. ;-) I know what you are saying. Not everyone does so kudos for posting that detail.

Wow, I would prefer to run them even if there is a slight chance that they help! My TX has a built in battery voltage fail safe but I still run the spring.

I bet there'd be a damn good market for a cheap failsafe with built in self charging battery. Turn the RX on and it automatically charges it's tiny battery. It senses that the receiver just shut down and it expels it's tiny battery power setting the throttle servo to neutral. In fact, with the amount of power necessary, I bet a single, fairly small capacitor would do the job just fine. Could be used in boats, planes, and offroad + onroad cars.

I had a buggy run away on me befor at the house a few years back full throttle right into a mail box post. Seams they always hit the hardest object in the yards can't ever run into a sack of packing peanuts lol
