i'm pretty sure this is a bad idea, but i'm trying to convince someone. what would happen if we ran our truck with no cooling head??

it's broke off, the very bottom is still there so the cylinder's covered.

Thats not quite running with no cooling head, but still not a good idea. No cooling head means no cooling, it WILL overheat quickly, and you WILL damage the engine.

It will cook the engine. Airplanes run without a cooling head or at least a very small one. But that's due to the massive quantity of wind that's constantly passing over the engine. Also, on planes, the cooling head gets in the way of air flow. Boats don't run much of a cooling head either, they run more of a water manifold around that head the circulates the water that it's running in accross the engine block to drop the temps.

It will run, but it will run hot and not for very long.
