Okay so I have been haveing a problem loosing complete control of my truck and sometimes even running away. I have replaced the controller, reciever and that didn't do it so I figured it might be the battery box cable so I got a new one comeing. Do you think it will finally fix the problem I am getting sick of droping money into the stupid thing. OH and by the way its a t-maxx 2.5r

your problem is the stock 27mhz am radio system, you are getting interference from something in your area. I would look at getting a 2.4ghz system.

I agree, stock radios suck, unless you have a Losi and they give you a kickass Spektrum. Anyways, I would recommend upgrading first. If you don't have enough cash to, I would find where the problem is. I would think it is a problem with your crystals. It can also be, like said, radio interference. If not, then you may have a faulty radio. Call Traxxas for support. When you turn on your radio, how do your servos react? Make sure you are using charged batteries.

Well it doesn't do it all the time just once in a while it will. NO ONE else in my area has something like this that would interfear with I live by like 50 to 60 year old people.

Unfortunately, it only takes 1 run away do do serious damage to your rig, or someone else's property, or worse some innocent bystander. Spend the $25 and get a failsafe, unless you go Spektrum/2.4Ghz since they have it built into their RXs

27Mhz is not reserved for just RC stuff. So you won't always see the item causing interference.

If anyone close to you has a C.B. radio they run on the 27mhz frequency so if they ke up the mic and they are close to your band =loss of control

buy spektrum. I have had issues with failsafes before and i just don't like them. I have lost signal with spektrum before and it doesn't even get my blood pressure up anymore. I was running the slayer pretty far out when i lost throttle control. A split second later it came to a halt. I walked a little closer and i was back off and running.

I agree on the Fail safe its a must, but all its going to do is stop the vehicle which is good. But means you can't run also, so once again invest in radio system then you can run your truck.

I had a run-awy problem with a Jammin truggy. It would only do it after 15-20 min of running. I had a seperate fail safe. Futaba 2.4 FASST system (receiver fail safe too). I swapped servos, receiver, switch and it came down to the hump pack. It would run fine....like I said 15-20 min then run away. Let it sit for a bit...fine again for a bit. One of the tabs had came loose on the battery pack. In 15-20 the pack to warm up a bit since I was running a 350oz steering servo and a 150oz for brake/throttle. The tab would sepperate from the battery....everything dies and bye-bye Jammin. When the pack was cold you could not get that thing to do it. I finally figured it out...but it took awhile.

I had mine take off on me and it was at the same time 3 semi's went rolling by so yea it could of been a cb, walkie talkie, cordless phone or some grand kid with a little carpet car playin in grandma's house stealing your ride

This was about a year or so ago.....(Throttle return springs) I have one on everything I own now. I swear by them. Best back up fail-safe made.

Okay well I should get my battery holder today or tomorrow so I will run it and see how it does. Then if it still does I will give traxxas a call and see what they can do for me (I am going to bitch at them) but anyways if they don't do any thing I will see whats cheaper a fail or a radio system. My birthday is next month so I will ask for the venom fail safe the one that reads the temp. and is a fail safe at the same time. I will post to let you guys know if the battery holder worked. Sorry for not posting in a long time I have been busy helping my cousin remodel and golf practice.
