What type of savage other than the x is RTR.
Is there any under 500$?

You might have a hard time finding one, but there's the older models (the 21 and 25 savages). About the best way to find one is to call around to your local hobby shops; they might have one in stock. Or try eBay.

Otherwise, the X is a pretty good version of the savage - easier to work on, and just as tough!

At my LHS the X is under $500 @ $449. Where you're located, eBay will probably be your best bet. My truck was 25 RTR, good truck!

you could also just buy a used savage rtr. i just bought a 25 from someone right here on rcnt, got it, and it started right up. its in good shape. you may not have the same luck but shop around. of course if you want a new one, this doesn't apply.
