Is the rs4 3 rtr durable? I'm a basher in parking lots, will this do? Which do you guys prefer the NTC3 rtr or the RS4 3 rtr ? Thanks a mill.

i have a rs4 rtr3 and do far its durable as far as i can tell . i had i wreck i cliped a curb going WOT in my parking lot infront my apt and all that broke was the C upright support and hpi has spares of theses with the car. Just be sure when u get it U TIGHTING EVERY LAST SCREW . for some reason some are loss from the factory sometimes besides that there good and durable. enjoy:smoke:

I also have a RS4 RTR 3. It is a very durable car and makes a great parking lot basher. However there are a few things that need to be addressed before this car really performs well.

The stock header is crap, you will need to replace this. I went with the THS racing one piece header and pipe.

The single needle carb, also crap. I put an OS 10e carb on the stock hpi engine and it has been running great ever since.

On the plus side it is a shaft drive car, much better for parking lot bashing and racing imo as opposed to belts.

The stock engine, although not a rocket by any means has performed exceptionally well, I have lost count of how much fuel I have run through it and it is still going strong, fires on two or three pulls every time.

As far as durability, I have had a few pretty bad crashes, and had very minor damage.

I would recommend the RS4 3 SS over the rtr, but you will then need to add a radio and servos.

I'm a little bit biased here but I'd definitely have to say to get the Type SS. It has a few hop ups that you won't need to get with the RTR3. It's the same exact car with few more hop ups. Umm if you are doing parking lot bashing you will definitely want a shaft drive car for sure. Belt drive's suck for just parking lot bashing.
