My dad says that HPI Racing already discontinued the RS4-3 RTR and SS, stating that there "were too many problems."

Is this true?

i doubt it, what would they replace them with? they have no other mid level touring cars. Besides, although i am not much of a fan of HPI, the cars are not that problematic.

No mention of that on their website. I highly doubt they are discontinuing them. I have the RTR and there are almost no problems with it. Sounds like a false rumor to me...

Yeah, i know i seems wierd, and my dad has a friend who found out from prolly another friend and thus this whole rumor got blown out of proportion. To me, it seems that the only person whose having problems with his Rs4 3 is , errr, me! Yippee!, on second thought, i'd better stop bashing, even if I'm on the receiving end.

The RS4 Pro kit has been discontinued, maybe that is what they were talking about, and got it confused with the RS4 3

I don't think so... if you look at the HPI website there haven't been any updates on this particular car... and what problems?? The only problem I have with this car is I can never stop playing with it???

I agree with TRD, I have an SS as well, and the only major problem I ever have is trying to do something other than tinker with my car. Last night I took it out around midnight in a local parking lot and played with it for an hour, getting up for work this morning wasn't fun :\, but it was worth it.

now i'm not saying i dont have problems with the car, i just dont think HPI would discontinue their best on-road tc, because of tiny little problems. besides, the way i look at them, if something breaks, that just an excuse to get a cool new (better) part.

i do need some help...

I don't think they'd discontinue the RS4 3 without Discontinuing the RS4 Racer 2 first. The RS4 3 is they're newest street car out when came out in 2002 when HPI moved to there new building. If it was a real car would be considered the 2003 model along with the RTR Micro. The R40 is a track car and was built for a different group of people then the RS4 3.
