Finally getting around to build my .12RSS RS4 and I seriously have no idea where to route the feed line for the fuel. its really a crappy design from HPI with the bottom nipple on the tank. If it was angled it would be nice. Any Ideas on the best way to route it???

They tell you in the manual to mount the tank with the fuel nipple towards the back. But the big problem is that you run the risk of the fuel line laying across the pinion gear. And if you have a 2-speed, there's little room to run the fuel line up and to the engine. So reverse the fuel tank. You'll have to get longer lines for both the fuel and the pressure line, but it's tons safer and a lot easier to route.

OMG, why did I never think of that Candyman?? I found a great way to route it, but I could never keep fuel goin the eingine, musta been kinked. I'm trying that, thanks Candyman!

That or buy the race tank from HPI. I have the same kit (SS 12) and right away I noticed how dippy the design was. Mine worked ok for awhile in stock mode, until I had to make an adjustment and in order to complete it I had to remove the whole tank to get the fuel line back on.

Yeah, defiantly get the racing fuel tank, which was the first thing I noticed and got when I purchased my RS4 RTR3.

Great idea Jeff...
Another great Idea move this thread to gen nitro talk LOL :stupid: LOL I have been waiting to use that smilie :)

thanks for the idea guys. I'm gonna run it this way for a bit. I looped the line around the rollbar/handle and it seems to work. then I will look into other tank options.
I've been sloowly building this thing with a Ford GT body on it.. I'll get some pics for you guys, it looks pretty bad ass :)

if you buy the aluminum feul tank mount, you can still have it facing backwards, but the aluminum fuel mount conviently lets you route it through the center and safly away from the pinions

nitrohuffer, the race tank is not that expensive and worth it the first time you ever have to do a repair that requires removing the fuel line. Keep it in mind. Otherwise, sounds like you are doing the workaround like the rest of us did.
