I finally found the time to assemble my RRP steel spur gear.

I also got a RRP hardened 19T and 20T clutch bell.

Now I'm suddenly in doubt. How should the mesh btw. the spur and CB be?. Just like the stock plastic 72T spur, with the "plastic bag trick"

The reason why I ask is that it seems to me like the RRP steel spur gear teeth are more flat than on a fresh plastic one.

How do you mount yours ??

Regards.

I just use a piece of paper to set the gear mesh. I would assume you can do the same thing with your RRP parts.

OK.

I was also contacted by a friend of mine who has not yet lost the little paper info that came with the RRP set.

It said to use the plastic bag the parts came in.

Thanks for replying anyway :-D

Regards

If your experience is like mine, your mesh with the steel gear will be slightly wider. At first I tried the paper trick, but I removed the paper the gear mesh was way to tight. I either double up a plastic bag or just do it by feel.
