I recently ran the RRP double disc slipper with a steel spur gear. The steel spur ate my CB so I want to switch to a plastic one. My question is:
1. Can I run a stock Traxxas spur gear with a double disc slipper or is the DD slipper just for steel spur gears?
2. If I can use the DD slipper with a Traxxas spur gear, do I have to install the slipper pegs or is the DD slipper enough?

TIA

1- No, you can not use a traxxas gear with the double disc slipper. And no, the have both plastic and metal rings.

2 - you dont use slipper pegs on the dd, only on the stock gear

I have the RRP double disc slipper on my Maxx, but I use the plastic rings, not the metal ones. Just buy the plastic rings and you will be good to go.

Thanks. The reason I asked was because I have 3 Traxxas spurs gears in the parts bin and thought I would use them up. I'll switch the DD slipper plates to the stock setup. Eventually I'll purchase the RRP plastic spur gear with the plastic rings so I can use the DD slipper.

Or you could get a hardened clutch bell... they last longer.

Although, I don't know of one other than RRP that's hardened. OFNA makes hardened 1/8 scale 1M bells, but I don't know if they make any 1/10 pitch bells.
