Hey guys, thought id give my experiance with my rpm carriers. Not that impressed, sure they dont brake but the ball ends keep popping right out of them. Not sure if i should go with metal carriers or buy new rpm plastic ones? Whats ur opinions and will any carrier work with my rpm arms? Thanks..

If the pillow balls are coming out of the carriers, call RPM's customer support. They should replace them under warranty for free.

So i called rpm, they said to send it to them to decide if it is covered in warranty. Then the day after the other side popped. Could i have the wrong pushrod/rocker setup for the carriers, not sure that would matter. But I'm running p2 rockers with the #5318x 102 mm pushrods.however i did notice the rod itself says for use with p1 p2 and LT, but the package says p1 and LT. Any ideas on that?anyhow this is the last straw for me and rpm carriers. I have two new ones on now and two old ones goin to rpm. But i have a feelin it will happen again.

Sorry to see you dealin with these issues. Do you not like the original ones, that came with the truck? Mine is still taking some beatings since I got the truck.

well actually had no problems with the stock but never ran them on the track either. if i have another problem i will probably put my stock back on. I was just tryin to beef the truck up and i figured a set of rpms would be a good addition. Supossed to be like 30% more material in the pillow ball area and larger bearings and a warranty. BUT doesn't seem to be the case. I'm close to declareing them junk. Although the arms and tru-trac rear seem to be a great addition. A friend and i collided in the air, both right in the left front wheel and he had to buy replacement arms for his.

The second month I had mine, I took it to work & let one of the guys bashed it. Well guess what? Yes, he put some mark on a pole on WOT, :whhooo: it tore up the arms in pcs, bent push rods but, those carriers was untouched. I replaced all A arms with RPMs. All those stuff happened in mid Feb, up to now, the truck is just getting better & better. Good luck on your issues & I hope you gitter dun, It ain't no fun when the darn thing is alway on work bench being fix instead on just being clean.

Thats why i dont let just any newbie drive my truck. But i gotta say though i do love this thing, and up till now mine has been the one driving from the track back to the garage while my buddys max is usually in need of repair of some sort. This is just a minor issue but was wonderin if it is something i was doin wrong. But thanks to all for the help:first_place:

There's only a certain amount of angle they can handle without popping out. My buddy bought a set of those cheap aluminum maxx shocks on ebay a couple years back. They're longer than the stockers. Not by much but enough to cause this problem. When he lifted a front tire under power, the ball would pop outta the carrier. Mounted the shocks to the lowest settings, which is about where the truck sits with the stock shocks at their highest setting, and the balls quit popping out. Even carriers that had come apart prior hold fine after we figured out the shocks were longer. This is on a T Maxx.

RPM axle carriers leave a lot to be desired IMO. They are well known for popping pivot balls. Speaking from personal experiance I wuld not trade a set of stock carriers with the steel ring reinforcement for 3 sets of rpms.
If you want a really good set of carriers and are willing to spend the extra $$ the Tekno carriers and 8mm stub axle conversion is well worth the price.

Like i said I'm gonna run this new pair to there death and back to the stockers.Where do u get the steal ring reinforcement from or is it in the carriers already? I did also adjust the caster(i believe)to little to nothing, pretty much plum. And i dont have aftermarket shocks, but i still do wonder ur thoughts on the question of my pushrods being the wrong one like i asked in a post up above?
