Has anyone found a good exhaust routing method to keep oil off of the rear suspension on a T-Maxx?? I'm using a silicone exhaust stinger and it is not doing the job.

I use a silicone exhaust extention for my Maxx. It keeps 99% of the exhaust off the rear tire. You can buy them at any hobby store, and they're cheap...under $2 I think.

You can use some longer plastic tubing extended to the rear of your truck. Doing this will increase the back pressure. After re-tuning see id the performance decrease is worth the trade-off.

I sure hate to mention a stinger or CVEC pipe.

Were you being sarcastic? I was actually considering getting an MIP Stinger. People used to love those MIP pipes on stadium trucks.

Yeah anyway. I have a Stinger pipe on my Losi GTX and it works great. All exhaust out the rear and the performance of that .12 is great. I don't know about on a MT, that might be a trick to just attempt to fit it on.

Nothing is better for the Maxx than the stock equipment! hahaha J/K, anyway I think its one of those unavoidable situations if you dont want to scarafice performance. I to have heard Maxx owners say they didnt like the MIP Stinger on both the new and old engine. As for the cvec I cannot comment but I sure know I cringe when I hear it do to the "Drive Fast - Turn Stomachs" certian someone over @ the TRX board.:x

I've been using exhaust deflectors on both my T-Maxx and Savage since I bought them. If you point the deflector 90 degrees out from the chassis, it should do the trick. I have not had to clean oily crap off either of my truck's tires, suspension or any other part of the right side of the truck.

That is what I have been doing Sky, but it hasn't been working.
I just moved the stinger so it faces the side and not down and I'll see how that works out.

The deflector on my truck also points out about 90 degrees...more like 110 (more toward the front, just slightly) and I don't get any oil on my truck.

For some reason my friends stinger sucks. It has barely any backpressure so whenever the truck ends its run, we flip it face up and oil flows out the back. That might just be because he does a poopy job tuning. But I blame it on the pipe.

Oil sits in low points of any pipe, the stinger generally points upward in th erear so even more will gather inside. The richer you run, the more oil. It's not really a tuning issue at all.
