Has anyone here ever tried the Roto start system for the Maxx? It was just something I may consider in the future. One site sells the backplate adapter and you can get a starter shaft for a cordless drill pretty cheap. Figured you could spin the motor quicker on the lowest torque setting from a cordless drill. I figured the lowest torque setting would allow it to stop spinning just incase of hydro lock and also using the 18v, you would have to worry about charging way less.

I either use a pull start or a roto start for SB Tmaxx. Both work well. Like you say, be sure to set the cordless clutch on the lowest possible setting that will allow it to turn the engine.

I had a rotostart on my 3.3 max for a while. It works fine you just have to poke the start shaft through the rear bulkhead mount. Honestly, a pull start us easier because you only need a glow igniter to have fun on the fly. Just get your tune good and it's awesome.

yeah i gave up on electric start . to much hassle . my truck usually fires right up if it doesn't then i know something aint right
