I thought I remembered reading a post about this but I can't seem to find it. Which one is better? I remember reading from a site a while back that rotary is better for on-road and slide is better for off road. Is there any truth to this? TIA.

Rotary for offrod and slide for onroad. slide provides more instant power while rotary is more gental because it takes longer to swivel the barrel.:)

Then Why does the New 2.5 Rusty and T-MAxx have a slide carb? Why do all .21 engines have slide carbs?? All the big blocks are on trucks? Please explain...X

The 4wd buggys that take .21 have crazy amounts of traction and can handle a person nailing the throttle. the 2.5 engine has a slide so the maxx can get wheelies, and sell better.. and now the rustler and 4tec have slides too, and it takes alot of finger controll to keep the rusty from wheeling or spinning out.
All the big blocks are one trucks?

wtf?!:\

All the big blocks are on truck and buggys Which part of that didn't you understand??? X

To me it is a matter of personal preference. I have slides on ALL of my off road rides (4 of them) as well as on my on roads.

I dont have problems at all. But, its my personal liking.

I dont think that you can say one is for offroad and one is for onroad.

Just my 2 cents

Slide all the way

I like the slide carbs they are easier to tune than rotatory type carbs.

listen to this

not all big blocks are on trucks. ofna came out w/ the lx pro buggy w/ the new big block 25 on it for $300. wierd thing is it comes w/ a yo-yo when u buy it.

Notice I added this a couple lines after I said that I just include trucks and 4x4 buggys in my mind in the same lump

Rotary or slide, it can be availible for any engine for any type of cars. Slide are a lot smother and better flowing that rotary. Slide carb flow in a clean straight line airflow. Rotary carb flow in a cross-section, mean must go through 2 sections. Rotary carb is better for Trucks because the rotary is soft on low end, which allow the truck to get traction. The slide is good for 4wd because 4wd cars can get a lot of traction on the low end. But you can use which ever you want.

you said "All the big blocks are one trucks? " The most confusing part is that a question? hmmm. well even it it was how can a big block be a truck?

ya, slide for on road, roatry for off road.

Slide carb is better. they are smoother and open a heck of alot quicker. i bought my novarossi with a slide carb and it is way better than the roatary with my old FE. slide carbs shoot open like a rocket.
